The purpose of this position is to lead individual, multi-disciplined real estate project solutions for clients, with direct accountability for project delivery.
Capacity Planning Operations Technician Project Overview: When people use Google products, the servers in our data centers do the work--around the clock and around the world. For over ten years we've been building some of the world's most efficient data centers. We are a diverse, upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.
Overall Responsibilities: As part of the data center team, you will help plan and manage data center machine deployments. Recognize process inefficiencies and suggest improvements. Escalate to senior team members as needed for advanced issues. Analyze, organize, and present team performance metrics.
Top 3 Daily Responsibilities: Project manage dependencies within networking and data center power domains. Utilize capacity management tools for space, power, cooling, and networking to integrate new IT equipment into data center environments. Organize data center deployment data.
Other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.
Manages 3rd party project delivery resources/team. Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating team members.

Required Skills:
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, IT network engineering, or related field. (Degree is required!)
Familiarity with fiber optic cable specifications.
Familiar with telecom infrastructure.
Familiarity with computer hardware and the physical layer of computer networking (Layer 1 Technology).
Nice-to-have Skills (not required, but highly recommended):

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. Knowledge in MS Project, leases, contracts, and construction practices.
Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
