JOB SUMMARY
 

The purpose of this position is to maintain facilities CAD documentation and associated data to support space & occupancy planning efforts of the client while working under senior personnel supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-

*      Creation, maintenance and retrieval of architectural floor plans and furniture plans including tags & polylines.

*      Utilizes client CAFM system for the maintenance of floor plans, polylines and space data updates to support move operations and space reporting.

*      Manages all CAD drawings within the client document management system and ensures relevant CAD drawings are available in the client CAFM system.

*      Upload new drawings and update changes to drawings in client CAFM system, assigning appropriate space attributes to maintain consistent space tracking.

*      Maintain up-to-date and historical indexes of CAD files, specifications, and other related documents in the client document management system.

*      Ensure all submitted and edited CAD drawings adhere to client CAD drawing standards prior to submission acceptance into the document management system and CAFM system.

*      Assist in maintaining client CAD drawing standards and processes.  Educates all stakeholders in CAD drawing standards and processes. Serves as primary interface with Business Division(s) and client disciplines to understand business direction and changing workplace needs.  Applies CAD knowledge to forecast space requirements and develops workspace planning needs based against business and market conditions.  Develops executable plans to support the business needs, corporate objectives and initiatives.

*      Identifies, analyzes and applies related data in regard to the creation and execution of physical or virtual space solutions.  Produces visual display of quantitative and qualitative information.  Illustrates organizational, operational and functional relationships that pose physical and spatial impacts.

*      Executes change management process for unplanned and special project requests.  Provides business case analysis and documentation that meet the client's requirements and are consistently in alignment with client's goals and objectives.

*      Establishes project goals and objectives, including, but not limited to, schedule parameters.  Develops project-level and portfolio-level solutions based on interpretation of the program data and preparation of recommendations.

*      Partners with client leadership in researching, evaluating, and improving client and service delivery processes.

*      Able to resolve routine problems as they relate to manipulation of CAD software for drawing management.

*      100% task oriented

*      Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES -

*      No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.  Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience of 3 to 5 years in related field of Architecture, Interior Design or Facilities.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD drawings, CAFM tools and database concepts, as well as MS Office Suite.
  • Some experience in manufacturing and/or operations.
  • Some knowledge in at least one traditional building or facilities discipline as it relates to real estate drawing management.

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence and memos, as well as ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.  Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
  • Must have strong communication skills to successfully interact with both internal and external stakeholders.

REASONING ABILITY
-

  • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions, as well as solve problems in standard situations.
  • Requires intermediate analytical skills.

  • Proven organizational skills.  Ability to complete multiple tasks as assigned.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely and reliable service to client(s).  Ability to present information in an effective way.  Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.
  • Ability to collaborate, problem solve, and multi-task.  Ability to adapt to change when necessary.  Familiar with system furniture design and modular furniture while demonstrating knowledge and adherence to building regulation and health & safety guidelines.
  • Must be a self-starter and self-sufficient; able to identify opportunities for improvement.
