Our Company
We are a privately held property management firm location in Orange County near Tustin/Irvine that currently manages a portfolio of over 5 million square feet of retail shopping centers.  You are currently an Assistant Controller or Controller with retail shopping center accounting experience who is ready to step into a higher position to manage a team of 10-12 accountants and support staff.

Overview

Responsible for the review of all financial reporting prepared by the property teams for their assigned properties. Create and implement accounting procedures and policies in accordance with GAAP, best practices and industry standards. Manage a team of 10 to 12 accountants and support staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • Coordinate process and perform quality review of annual billing reconciliations, annual budgets and quarterly forecast for assigned properties.
  • Gain complete understanding of client accounting requirements, communicate requirements to property teams, and ensure requirements are met as established by the client.
  • Function as a resource to property teams to coordinate procedures, respond to accounting questions, and respond to client questions.
  • Conduct training initiatives developed for property accounting.
  • Participate in special projects.
  • Knowledge of JDE or other client accounting systems, as well as the Kardin budget system.
  • Ability to understand and interpret retail lease documents.
  • Coordinate cash management activities between owner and property teams.
  • Understand client accounting requirements, communicate requirements to the property teams and ensure requirements are met as established by the client.
  • Serve as resource to property teams to coordinate procedures, respond to accounting questions and client questions

Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. – Accounting
  • 8 plus years retail property accounting. Supervisory and significant experience with accounting systems and procedures.
  • Microsoft office products, Yardi, Kardin, AVID, ACH Application, Lockbox.
