Multi-disciplinary design firm seeks energetic, enthusiastic, and innovative team member to serve as a Design Associate with specific interest and focus in land planning, urban design, and landscape architecture detail design.

 

The firm's land planning activities include large-scale planning, community and urban design, resort design, and historic preservation. The firm also maintains a steady golf course design workload as well. 

 

This Design Associate position will include the full spectrum of the design process from site design and due diligence to conceptual design, design development, construction documentation, and construction oversight/administration.  Hand-drawn renderings and graphic illustration skills will be emphasized in this position where computer 3D rendering skills are also preferred.  The focus on graphic representation will build on BWD’s already strong abilities of communicating strong design ideas to both clients and collaborative team consultants.

 

The candidate most appropriate for this position will demonstrate an interest in landscape and urban design; the ability to quickly assimilate information and reach thoughtful conclusions; an open-minded, team-oriented attitude; a willingness to learn new methods or techniques; the ability to multi-task and keep up with details of many projects; the desire to work hard within a fun, academic environment; the ability to relocate to work in downtown Greenville, SC; and the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and dependability.

Necessary abilities for the Design Associate will include:

 

  • Strong design and graphics skills
  • AutoCAD & Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
  • Coordination of project design development details that will be communicated with other project consultants, such as engineers, irrigation designers, permitting agencies, etc.
  • Strong communication and client relation skills
  • Willingness to travel (as needed)

 

Education Requirements: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture
