Financial Analyst

Newmark is seeking a detailed-oriented individual with strong quantitative skills to work in a fast-paced sales environment and be part of a growing and successful Capital Markets team in Washington, DC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Conduct full due diligence and perform financial modeling and analysis on real estate transactions
• Analyze and evaluate leases, rent rolls, budgets, operating statements and other due diligence documents
• Identify issues and determine what could be a concern
• Research market data to support financial underwriting assumptions
• Assist in preparation of Broker Opinion of Value and Offering Memoranda
• Create and build cash flow models in ARGUS Enterprise
• Prepare discounted cash flows and run sensitivity analyses
• Develop and recommend financing alternatives
• Participate in weekly team meetings to discuss deal flow, deal status, market conditions and new client leads

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance or Mathematics
• Preferably 1+ years commercial real estate experience
• Strong understanding of financial terms and principles necessary in real estate underwriting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and workload
• Team player, strong work ethic and passion to work in the commercial real estate industry
