Responsibilities

As an Associate in the Strategic Projects Office, you will drive projects associated with the mandate and scope of the Office. This role reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Projects Office. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Maintain a project tracker to ensure key projects, deliverables and milestones are tracked and deliverables are met in a timely manner
  • Track progress against project timelines, and meet regularly with the head of the Strategic Projects Office to provide status updates and flag issues that may impede ability to deliver against timelines
  • Attend select meetings alongside Senior Director, Strategic Projects Office, as appropriate, to summarize key takeaways and follow up on action items
  • Collaborate with other leadership including analysts and associates across the firm to support launching of new initiatives and processes
  • Develop ideas and strategies to help push forward ideas and projects for the firm, either with the head or other members of the function, when directed
  • Prepare materials for meetings, including research, agendas and PowerPoint presentations
  • Push thinking of leadership; provide constructive feedback and add new ideas to processes, discussions and deliverables. Engage in healthy and constructive discussion to help push concepts forward
  • Ensure leader stays focused on areas of highest priorities
  • Connect dots across the organization and more broadly to other parts of Hines
  • Support the Strategic Projects Office in developing standardized processes and procedures across specific projects like Task Forces – including setting up best practices to ensure that work moves forward at an appropriate pace
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required with additional qualifications preferred (e.g., Master's degree)
  • Five or more years of prior related work experience; previous experience in a management consulting, process improvement or strategy function preferred
  • Open to background from any industry or sector however, some real estate experience preferred
  • Can-do, problem solver attitude
  • Extremely articulate; with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act proactively
  • Evidence of high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortability with ambiguity and ability to drive for clarity when needed
  • Strong proficiency with basic MS suite of tools including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to maintain extremely confidential information
  • Fluency in working across a variety of stakeholders
