Assist in leading and managing the corporate accounting team responsible for the accounting function of multiple multi-family residential properties.  The ideal candidate will display high energy and enthusiasm, while setting an example for the staff through a strong work ethic and positive outlook. 



  • Recruits, interviews, hires and trains new staff
  • Oversees daily workflow of the department
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy



  • Manage the preparation and analysis of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements
  • Manage the preparation and analysis of budget and financial reporting packages within scheduled dates and deadlines
  • Analyze mortgage, partnership, and cash management agreements to determine proper accounting and compliance requirements, and prepare compliance submissions as necessary on a timely basis
  • Prepare escrow draw packages in accordance with loan documents
  • Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Prepare special reports as requested by Executive Management
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Other related duties and assignments as required



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum 5 years of real estate and/or multi-family residential property management industry accounting experience
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in an accounting setting
  • Experience working with multiple entity financials required
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and other MS applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Strong ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Must be team-oriented and problem solver with strong work ethic
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills a must
  • Ability to review work for quality and completeness will be a key to success
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external teams



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
