Job Summary:
The Residential Whole Loan Operations Analyst will be responsible for coordinating residential whole loan fundings and carrying out various post close operations such as reviewing collateral documents with our custodian, working with our origination partners to obtain trailing documents, coordinate servicing transfers and assist with MERS reconciliations.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for executing whole loan settlements, including:
- The circulation of closing documents and funding schedules
- Coordinating wires
- Allocating trades internally
- Responsible for reviewing custodial reports for exceptions, coordinating with originators related to trailing documents and reporting exceptions to the desk.
- Primarily responsible for working with the servicers to ensure servicing transfers are carried out properly and loans are reconciled in MERS.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Process-focused and think-outside-the-box mentality – this role requires relentless willingness to always improve existing process and enhance efficiency
- Strong communication skills (both written and oral) and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple competing task
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a plus
- A true self-starter capable of accomplishing complicated tasks with limited supervision
Education and Experience: The ideal candidate would have 1 to 2+ years of experience in the residential mortgage whole loan space. Candidates should have an understanding of collateral and mortgage documents as well as an understanding of the life cycle of a trade.
