Position Overview:

A real estate private equity company with a market capitalization of over $2 billion is seeking an Asset Management professional to join its New York based team. Responsible for (among other things) reducing/avoiding expenditures when applicable, researching the most consistent and highest sources of revenue, and reducing liability and risk of real estate transactions. The candidate will primarily focus on office assets and will be based in the firm’s New York City headquarters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the leasing for a portfolio of mostly class A office assets.
  • Responsible for conducting market and demographic research for the portfolio location and competitive set.
  • Prepares financial analysis to support leasing decisions.
  • Analyzes budgets-to-actual results and financial information on a monthly basis and report noteworthy variances.
  • Negotiate terms of lease contracts with support from agency broker and legal team
  • Build and direct teams of external real estate brokers to execute company leasing strategies.
  • Regularly and efficiently communicates with all parties involved in a project (i.e. sponsor, stakeholders, team members, etc.).
  • Monitors all leasing activity to insure maximum occupancy and income and conduct credit checks for all potential tenants.
  • Renders assistance during acquisition and disposition of properties.
  • Model a full lifecycle financial analysis for projects/assets in the portfolio and work with property management and leasing teams to establish annual budgets.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of relevant direct real estate investing, brokerage, private equity, investment banking, or financing experience
  • Extensive understanding of real estate, with a proven track record of successful real estate management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel. A working knowledge of ARGUS is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required for establish and maintaining relationship with relevant parties (management, property management, brokers, landlords, tenants, etc.)
  • Highly developed negotiation skills is required.
