Construction Estimator

NFI Real Estate is a team of Real Estate Developers and Construction Project Managers working in a fast paced environment currently experiencing strong growth. 

We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual to join our team as a Construction Estimator. Our company works on primarily industrial warehouse construction projects including ground up construction, Interior Alterations and Site infrastructure ranging in value for $1m - $50m.  Individual must be familiar with a wide range of worksites, cost structures, and timelines. Your job duties include evaluating potential worksites; collaborating with contractors, vendors, and providing a comprehensive cost analysis/budgets for new proposed projects. Every estimate needs to address all relevant governmental regulations. Excellent communication skills are required to present your estimates to the internal Real Estate team. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create comprehensive cost estimates for a wide variety of construction projects
• Meet with potential customers/tenants to help determine project scope while maintaining confidentiality
• Work closely with internal team members and outside consultants to determine project scopes
• Evaluate potential sites for suitability and associated cost
• Verify estimates fall within the defined scope, specific site conditions and project timeline
• Participates in identifying qualified contractors and establishing and maintain bid solicitation lists
• Prepares project bid packages as well as project clarifications and bid assumptions to Real Estate team
• Support Project Managers on active projects under construction

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field - engineering and/or construction management
• 5-10 years experience as a construction estimator
• Prior Construction Management experience a plus
• Proficiency with cost estimating software
• Familiarity with construction practices, costs, and procedures
• Experience with vendor management
• Ability to travel approximately 30% and/or as needed based on business demand
