Senior Real Estate Analyst

Job Summary
Realized is looking for a Senior Real Estate Analyst with a minimum of 2 years applicable work experience. This is an opportunity to join a well-capitalized, growth-stage company in a rapidly evolving segment of the commercial real estate industry.  The ideal candidate must have an entrepreneurial mindset and adapt quickly to changes in the marketplace. This position is required to work out of our Austin, TX office but may work remotely part of the week. 

The Senior Real Estate Analyst will directly support the management team and primary responsibilities include:

1. Underwriting, modeling, and conducting due diligence on potential investments and product offerings
2. Supporting the sales team on investor calls and presentations
3. Assist in development of next-generation Fintech tools for the commercial real estate industry.

Essential Functions

• Financial Modeling:  Utilize existing and create new investment models to evaluate structured investments in commercial real estate opportunities by incorporating market analysis, historical performance and cash flow projections.
• Due Diligence:  Review of offering materials, property-level and third-party due diligence resources.  Communicate findings to multiple audiences including Due Diligence Committee, Revenue Department and potential investors. 
• Fintech development:  Support Vice President in communication and documentation of Fintech projects with Realized’s Development Department.  Develop communication system to document and check changes.  Beta test changes.  Lead strategic projects focused on creation of new analytical tools and models.
• Sales Support:  Serve as a subject matter expert in a client-facing capacity including calls, video conference and in-person presentations. 
• Thought Leadership:  Active role in thought leadership marketing initiatives including creation and scaling of market and sector reports
• Research and Ad Hoc projects:  Conduct market research and other ad hoc analysis, as needed.
• Market Knowledge:  Maintain awareness of competitive landscape, real estate and capital markets industries.
• Deal Leader:  Over time, develop the ability to lead complicated, structured transactions from start-to-finish, including presenting to management with a deal level recommendation.

Required Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two to Four years of experience in a financial analysis environment in the mortgage or commercial real estate industry.
• Strong financial modeling skills, including cash flow analysis, complex debt and equity partnership structures.
• Must understand and be able to critically evaluate real estate documents (leases, loan documents, third-party reports, etc.) to identify potential issues.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Preferred Experience and Education

• Knowledge of taxation is a plus, but not required. 
• Experience in structured finance, securitization or tax credits is a plus, but not required.
