Lexington Property Management, LLC is seeking a Property/Development Accountant to join the team in our corporate office in downtown Hartford. Lexington is a 30+ year owner/operator/developer that is actively growing its business through acquisition of existing multifamily properties, development of class A properties and ground up construction through its affiliated company InnoConn Construction Management, LLC. Lexington has an entrepreneurial culture and we are looking for a team player who is flexible, can work independently, doesn’t need a road map to follow, can take guidance and execute, doesn’t get rattled, has a positive attitude and good communication skills (written and verbal).

 

Position Description

  • Property / Development Accountant
  • Full cycle general ledger accounting and analysis including A/P, A/R and Payroll
  • Prepare, review and understand monthly financial reporting
  • Financial statement analysis including balance sheet and variance analysis
  • Track development project costs and prepare monthly funding requisitions
  • Cash Management, banking activity, bank account reconciliations
  • Budgeting
  • Cash flow preparation and analysis
  • Workpaper preparation for audits and tax returns
  • Interface with site operations teams to ensure proper flow of information and recording
  • This position will have exposure to all properties and all operating companies in a relatively small entrepreneurial environment

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in accounting is required
  • 3-5 years experience in an accounting role
  • Strong excel skills
  • Strong software and technical skills, experience with RealPage or other real estate software is a plus
  • Ability to operate in an entrepreneurial environment, if you need a manual to follow this is not for you
  • Real estate experience is a plus
  • Positive can-do attitude is required with the flexibility and willingness to jump in and do whatever tasks are required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
