Description


What we are looking for:

Expert in apartment home maintenance. Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and competent presentation skills. SDI preferred not required.
 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

This position is responsible for the development and delivery of maintenance skills curriculum to educate, train, and support the development of our Southern Management service team members. This position must model Southern Management's Mission, Values and professional conduct expected for all team members.
 
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
  • Deliver training in accordance with all applicable codes and standards (external and internal) via multiple formats including classroom, lab, plant/station environment, business support coaching, and virtual settings.
  • Coordinate with the SMU Team to creatively plan, schedule, and instruct courses in accordance with the needs of the business that reflect and balance the priorities and resources of Southern Management.
  • Prepare, administer, and grade assessments to evaluate team member progress during training.
  • Proactively identify learning opportunities in support of Southern Management's business objectives and performance goals while continually monitoring and improving the quality and effectiveness of instruction delivery.
  • Lead the development and revision of course curriculum and materials to maintain relevancy and accuracy.
  • Effectively utilize the LMS (learning management system), file management system, and other tracking and delivery tools.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment demonstrating all safety related policies and procedures.
  • Periodically observe or work alongside maintenance team members to ensure subject matter expertise is maintained and application of learning.
  • Actively participate on various training related committees and act as a liaison to communicate information to support the continual development of the maintenance skills curriculum.
  • Manages internal resources to maintain the MTA Hub locations.
  • Ensure all supplies and materials are identified, ordered, and maintained as required for skills training.
  • Collaborate with the Physical Asset Operations Team to maintain awareness of business needs and opportunities and support physical asset special projects as requested and available.
  • Contribute to team/company engagement efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Proficient in maintenance skills at M-I level or greater (see M-1 Service Technician job description)
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Assess, analyze, and create innovative solutions for instructional challenges

What's required from you:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational/Technical Degree, related Certifications, and/or Licensure or equivalent industrial/institutional training and experience
  • Minimum of six (6) years of related experience within skilled trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, math, and measurements)
