This at-will position is a key member of the City Manager’s Executive Leadership Team and manages the day-to-day activities of the Community & Economic Development Department. Key responsibilities include advancing the City's economic development and city planning priorities, ensuring efficient and effective community development services in partnership with other City departments and regulatory agencies, and implementing continuous improvement of development review systems and practices. The Director will also be involved in a comprehensive General Plan update, implementing a new Economic Development Strategic Plan and collaborating on the Build Riverside initiative, a customer service initiative aimed at unifying inspection teams associated with each department.

 

The new Director must have a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible administrative and supervisory management experience in city planning, economic/community development, commercial real estate or a closely related field.  This position also requires a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in city planning, urban design, public/business administration, real estate development or a closely related field. The salary range for the position is $151,992 to $219,660 annually, DOQ.  To be considered, please visit the Avery Associates Career Portal at www.averyassoc.net/current-searches/ to upload your letter of interest, resume and contact information including email addresses for five work-related references to Bill Avery by November 30, 2018.
