Description
- Develop and maintain space data to support strategic recommendations by university leadership; analyze facility needs, develop proposals, make recommendations for space allocations, the management of space, space improvement and capital projects
- Develop options, based upon knowledge of programmatic needs, institutional resources, priorities and metrics for utilization of existing, new or reassigned space
- Assist the Space Manager and other staff in the advancement of space driven project requests
- Gather, analyze and compile programmatic information to support and prepare reports and plans; attend meetings to collect requirements, present findings and recommendations
- Create and present schematic designs (conceptual test fit plans) and recommendations to support space planning efforts to stakeholders
- Partner with Capital Project Management and University Construction Services/FM Design on projects which involve move and relocation sequencing and execution; facilitate discussions and assist with creation of schedules and space assignments as needed
- Monitor and track space requests to ensure drawings are updated in a timely fashion; review of architectural as-built drawings with the CAD Administrator and report on any inconsistencies
- Creates, reviews and maintains floor plans of existing facilities by conducting field verifications when necessary
- Ability to identify space trends and their drivers to develop recommendations which drive efficiency and improved space utilization
- Generate and use predictive modeling, data mining and other statistical analyses to optimize space performance and improved user experience
- Uncover solutions hidden in data, extract meaning from and interpret data from statistics, productivity determining ideal placement, adjacencies to inform new space plans
- Influence space decisions through advanced statistical techniques and concepts
- Identify and develop tools that can be used to identify inefficiencies and provide recommendations to optimize productivity of space
- Determine best practices to ensure accuracy of data; identify and capture data which can be used in reporting but is not accessible today
- Develop data strategies utilizing program data, departmental data, demographic data, etc.
- Gain expertise in all facets of the academic/institutional organization, through both internal and external sources; stay current on those issues that most impact assigned functions
- Participates in creation and maintenance of playbooks, workflows, instructional documents, program templates and tools
