Description
Our Client develops, builds, and operates high quality apartment communities in desirable locations across East and West Coasts, Texas, and Colorado ( adding approximately 4000-5000 units per year) . They are looking to add another senior member to the West Coast team who will be based in either the Los Angeles or in Orange Country office.
The Vice President, Finance will source, negotiate, close and manage debt and equity financing and assist with the closing and financial oversight of equity commitments for the firm’s 7 Western U.S. development communities. More specifically, he/she will:
- Develop and maintain relationships with providers of equity and debt financing
- Source, negotiate and close debt and equity financing
- Source and close permanent debt for unsold assets
- Manage refinancing conversations with equity partners
- Provide debt and equity information to Asset Management as requested and work with them to track interim property tests, guaranty burn-offs, loan extensions and other information required to monitor the portfolio properly and proactively
- Assist development in preparing debt and equity financing strategies, and financing solicitation packages.
- Write Investment Committee Meeting memos as requested and review all memos for accuracy regarding Western U.S. assets
- Manage third party legal resources, and coordinate with the Eastern U.S. Finance region to ensure equitable coverage
- Assist with sale of development assets
- Travel required
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Minimum of 7 years of finance experience with at least four years of direct experience negotiating and closing real estate debt financing; Multi-family experience preferred
- Current relationships with banks and other providers of debt financing
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Ability to identify, communicate and focus on critical issues in complex financial situations
- Strong team player who can work across a firm organized along both functional and geographic lines
- Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred
- Uncompromising personal integrity
- Tenacious in meeting deadlines; strong sense of urgency; outstanding ability to self-manage
- Strong oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage through conflict and persuasively influence results
