We are seeking a Development Manager to join our San Francisco based team with the primary responsibility of managing the planning and entitlement process of large, mixed-use redevelopment projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our projects present a unique opportunity to develop an innovative vision for dense, urban infill, transit-oriented, housing. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic office on unique, urban infill, mixed-use projects throughout the bay area. The Development Manager will be directly responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and overseeing all aspects of the entitlement and development process. This will include preparing and evaluating financial information, preparing and maintaining budgets, preparing external project progress reports. Below are additional key responsibilities:

 

  • Work with the project team to lead the development of community outreach and engagement strategy and play a lead role in the implementation and ongoing adjustment of strategy to achieve a successful result.
  • Continually work to build relationships with local partners with the goal of communicating our stories and future development benefits most effectively. The position will require after hours and weekend meetings on a regular basis as needed to support the success of the effort.
  • Maintain project budgets and analyze project financial feasibility and evaluate ongoing project financial performance. Projects may include affordable, market-rate, or commercial components and rely on both public and private sources.
  • Assist in administrative and organizational project tasks.
  • Prepare and coordinate consultant contracts and assist in other legal matters.
  • Assist in internal plan reviews/comments.
  • Coordinating any design or construction change approvals during the project.
  • Participation in construction owner, architect, and contractor (OAC) meetings, including preparation of meeting notes as necessary. Specific duties may also include monitoring the status of shop drawings & submittals vs. contractor’s schedule, consultant turnaround time and monitoring the status of outstanding RFI’s, including timely consultant response.
  • Organizing all master and electronic copies of documents used in the implementation of the project. Candidate must be highly organized and able to account for and reference all project files rapidly.
  • Creation and upkeep of regular project status updates.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Trustworthy - must have impeccable discretion with access to sensitive company, customer, and personal information
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills. Especially Excel
  • Previous real estate experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend legal documents
  • Basic understanding of building & electrical infrastructure a plus.
