The Community Development Director (CDD) will join the City at a crucial time, with a number of exciting development opportunities on the horizon for the growing community. A core component of this role will be ensuring a high level of customer service and an ability to ensure efficient and effective departmental processes are in place. Given the size of the department the new Director will need to have an active and driven leadership style that empowers staff and helps deliver results. This position will include the role of planner, so a strong technical planning background and knowledge of various state regulations regarding planning will be required. The new CDD will also have the scope to shape the future of the Department as there are expected vacancies, this will allow the new leader to implement their vision and shape the future.

The ideal candidate will be a strong relationship builder capable of engaging effectively with community stakeholders and the development community.  This position requires a minimum of six years experience in the area(s) of planning, zoning, housing, code enforcement, and/or related community development activities with at least three years in a management role preferably in a municipal planning role.
