About the role:

The Closing Coordinator performs a variety of duties under the direction of the Director of Open Market Purchases. This position will be well versed in all aspects of the real estate industry, directly assists the Director by assisting to coordinate all aspects of the purchase transaction.

What you'll do:

  • Collaborates with Director of Open Market Purchases (“Director”) to reduce risk and ensure best possible outcome for company
  • Assists Director in managing a pipeline of purchase transactions
  • Analyzes and assists the buyer with meeting contractual terms during the escrow process
  • Coordinates with seller and or listing agent on the receipt of comprehensive property disclosures, as well as delivery of appropriate buyer disclosures, where applicable
  • Responsible for communicating to Director any matter discovered during closing that may materially affect the acquisition, especially during review of seller disclosures, and subsequently ensuring it is fully communicated to buyer if necessary, including to our underwriting and property management teams. Obtains appropriate supervisory approval before moving forward with acquisition
  • Responsible for initial review of all transaction documents, advising Director of any items that are not in line with the contract terms or that expose buyer to additional risk
  • Responsible for reviewing accuracy of all transaction documents as compared to negotiated terms, alerting Director of any discrepancies as well as creation of any additional necessary documents under direction of Director to clarify terms or reduce buyer liability
  • Facilitates regular and effective communication between all parties including internal departments such as underwriting, property management, evictions, title, resale, HOA, legal and accounting teams
  • Responsible for initial review of files to ensure they are complete and in compliance with internal policies, prior to Director’s final review. Responsible for being aware of department of real estate policies for the respective region and whether or not they are being followed correctly when there is buyer representation by Wedgewood / Maxim

What you'll need:

  • 2-5 years of experience in real estate. Preferably as an Analyst or Associate
  • Real Estate License preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • Verbal and written proficiency
  • Organized and able to multi-task with interruptions
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
  • Maintain composure in stressful, time-sensitive situations
  • Experience with Zip Forms and Docusign
