We have an opportunity for someone with 10-20 years’ experience to oversee daily projects and maintenance in a high performance, controlled building environment. The position will appeal to a mature professional with first-hand experience working in a specialized industries and facilities that require restricted access, security/safety, custom climate and hygiene controls (Banks, Data Centers, Hospitals, Refineries, Maritime/Shipping, Public Safety Locations. etc.)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all physical assets and track and ensure operation of all building systems and operations.
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on mechanical and building systems.
- Perform Tenant requested work such as HVAC adjustment and minor repairs to other building related systems.
- Schedule maintenance, ongoing servicing, and overhauls of electrical, heating, ventilation, refrigeration, water and sewage systems.
- Lead projects that will include repairs, equipment upgrades, refits, and a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all equipment & systems.
- Ensure all systems exceed operational standards as well as meet local, state and Federal requirements.
- Create and maintain accurate and complete reports for maintenance and repair of equipment
- Maintain familiarity with building codes, and manage/work with external vendors.
Candidate Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a reasonable track record, and experience as a building engineer in specialized facilities that require restricted access, security/safety, custom climate controls, etc. Additional training and certification or practical experience above and beyond traditional building engineering functions would be a decided plus. In addition, the candidate will have the following:
- Minimum 5 years experience as Facilities Engineer/Building Manager
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- High degree of building systems management including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, UPS systems, life safety, etc. Additional knowledge in power generators, fire pumps, and pneumatic controls is strongly desired.
- Familiar with blue prints, architectural terminology, building codes.
- Prior civilian work experience on military, government, or overseas location is a decided plus.
- Be of even temperament, engaged, comfortable with ambiguity. Someone who can be a creative problem solver in a timely fashion.
- Have the ability to cooperate and work well with others.
- Possess good written, oral and communication skills.
- Excellent work ethic, habits, integrity, honesty.
