JOB TITLE: Sales Trainee
LOCATION: St. John's, NL
Assists in developing new business and with selling, leasing, and marketing of commercial real estate. Works under the direct supervision of experienced sales professional or team of sales professionals in a training capacity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Determines appropriate methodology in creating marketing and presentation materials; includes designing brochures, preparing tenant market surveys and specialized reports, and developing property locator maps, etc
* Interfaces with sales professionals, researchers and clients regarding administrative and marketing requirements; gathers necessary data
* Assists in preparing various commercial real estate and ad hoc statistical reports for sales professionals and/or office/department
* Conducts database input, extraction, and maintenance; accesses repository of information for data analysis, reports, etc
* Job shadows agents/sales professionals; participates in local and national training initiatives
* May provide backup department administrative support as needed and/or other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's degree from university with an emphasis in/not limited to Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing (Real Estate and Housing, Urban Planning, Statistics, etc)
* Prior sales and customer service experience preferred
* Successful candidate will be required to complete NL Real Estate licensing course and become licensed in first six (6) months

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong organizational and analytical skills
* Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers
* Ability to effectively present information
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
* Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles
* Ability to calculate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions
* Conducts basic financial analysis
* Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations
* Ability to solve problems in standard situations
* Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
* Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite and Internet research skills
* Experience with desktop, graphics, and presentation software, and website content management
* Must be a team player with a positive attitude
* Desire to advance career and be successful
